What the numbers mean
A size with two numbers, such as 32/34, is waist and inseam: a 32 waist and a 34-inch inseam, the inseam measured from the crotch seam to the hem1.
Nike's chart is body measurements; if your waist and hip point to different sizes, Nike says to go by the hip1. lululemon also maps its waist sizes to alpha sizes, for example 32 to M and 34 to L2.
Tops. lululemon sizes men's tops by chest: S for 37 to 38 inches, M for 39 to 40, L for 41 to 42 and XL for 43 to 452.

Why does a 32 fit a 33-inch waist?
Both brands publish a body waist above the label: 33.5 in at Nike1 and 33 in at lululemon2 for a 32.
What does 32/34 mean?
A 32 waist and a 34-inch inseam, measured from the crotch seam to the hem1.
Is there a Nike men's tops chart here?
Not yet. Nike's men's tops chart address returned an error on the day we read the charts, so we leave it out rather than guess.
